This past weekend I saw the 1992 film "Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot" starring actress Estelle Getty of the sitcom "The Golden Girls." Out of her trademark white wig and make-up made to age her for the role, Getty looked much different than her character Sophia.

In "Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot" Getty plays an overbearing mother, Tutti, to a police officer, Joe, played by Sylvester Stallone. She repeatedly meddles in his life and begins to do so concerning his job as a cop.

The movie was funny, but there were some corny lines that could have been left out. The plot could have been stronger as well. I still found it entertaining. Getty carried this film. I wish Getty had done more films. She is very engaging on screen. To save such a film with a less than stellar script was an accomplishment. That's star quality and talent.
