"Short Circuit" is a film about a top secret military robot that was struck by lightening and started behaving like a human being. Believing he is an human, he names himself "Johnny" or "Johnny No. 5" also symbolic of his robotic number. The "Short Circuit" films are the predecessor of the animated film "Wall-e" which completely ripped them off. The sequel to "Short Circuit" takes Johnny No. 5 to a major city, where he craves input. The robot, believing he is a human, is in for a rude awakening, when people let him know otherwise, in the most unflattering terms. As smart as the robot appears to be, he is also quite naive.
The film had several entertaining moments, but a few crude ones as well that could have been left out, considering kids probably flocked to it when it was released in the 80's. |
