The film "Kate And Leopold" is Hugh Jackman at his finest. The Australian actor stars as an English duke, Leopold Alexis Elijah Walker Gareth Thomas Mountbatten, brought to the present through time travel from the year 1876. The "Mountbatten" name is taken from the real live Windsor royal clan of England.

He falls in love with a woman, Kate McKay, played by Megan Ryan. He is very sophisticated, while she is somewhat unsophisticated. Their differences at times annoy the other.

This was a nice romantic comedy (though I do not recommend their method of trying to time travel). Women can appreciate a chivalrous man. However, Kate, so used to the opposite, did not know how to react. It's like women who are attracted to bad boys that make them miserable and don't seem to know they can do better.

For a time, Meg Ryan ruled the box office. So did Julia Roberts. Then it was Reese Witherspoon. This is one of Ryan's better films.

Yes, dude actually wore that in modern day New York

In the years proceeding the release of this film, Jackman has gone on to become a superstar. I wondered back then, around the time this film was released, why this guy wasn't in more movies, as he has the talent and looks. Well, now he is.
