Title: Ghostbusters (2016)
Year Of Release: 2016
Review Date: November 30, 2016
Rating: PG-13
Running time: 116 minutes
Box Office Gross: $229,100,000
Site Rating: 5 out of 10 stars

The 2016 "Ghostbusters" remake was not as good as the 1984 original. In fact, adjusted for inflation, the original grossed far more money at the box office (movie ticket prices have more than doubled over the past 15-years to compensate for falling attendance numbers).

The "Ghostbusters" 2016 reboot has an all female cast, as opposed to the original. However, actors from the original cast also make appearances in the film. Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig star as a group of awkward women battling ghosts in New York City. However, they face opposition from authorities in the local and federal government.

The special efx in the film were better than the original, as technology has advanced in 30-years, but creativity and real humor are lacking in the reboot. The jokes were dry and unfunny, save for the lines of Jones' character during the concert scene.
