Rating: 5 out of 10 stars "Fireproof" is a film starring former "Growing Pains" actor, turned evangelist,
Kirk Cameron. His acting abilities are on full display in this movie, where he
plays an over-worked fireman, struggling with a marriage that is in turmoil. He and his wife argue constantly and are brought to the brink of divorce. His
dad steps in with a 40 day program, in the hope of it turning their marriage
around. This was an entertaining film. Sadly, it bore distinct touches of Tyler Perry's
preexisting hit
sitcom "House Of Payne" which is also about a Christian firefighter,
struggling with an estranged wife. The Celluloid Film Review is wondering
if distributor, Sony Pictures, is to blame for the similarities, as
it is their way. |
