Title: Crossroads Year Of Release: 2003 Review Date: November 30, 2008 Rating: PG-13 Running time: 93 minutes
Box Office Gross:
Site Rating: 2 out of 10 stars Recently, I saw the Britney Spears movie "Crossroads" on Bravo and laughed for all the wrong reasons. She starred as a teenager going cross-country to find her mom, but Spears' acting in the film was so bad, it was unintentionally hilarious. It's amazing that she started her career as a pop sensation, a stallion of sugary music, that later turned into a jacka... The Spears pop train completely wrecked. It's hard to believe this film was just six years ago, as it's a completely different Britney we see today. She looked young, hopeful, fresh faced and innocent then. Now she looked battered, angry, cynical, zombie like and 10 years older than
her age, on any given day, during one of her crazy jaunts around Los Angeles.
Spears is a poor actress. She looked bored most of the film on screen, which
is unacceptable. I fully expected her to yawn during different parts of the
film. At the time this film was made, Spears was a role model. Therefore, making a
film about going cross country with two friends, behaving irresponsibly, then
sleeping with a man in a hotel she is not married to, was hardly setting a good
example. This film was poorly thought out and is just plain cheesy with too much faux
drama. |
